Lyft Promo Codes & Discounts Guide

Lyft offers promo codes, ride credits, referral rewards, and membership savings that can cut your fare significantly. Promo offers change constantly, so always check the Rewards tab in your Lyft app for what is active on your account right now.

How to Add a Promo Code

For a code to apply, you must add it before you take the ride:

1. Open your profile in the Lyft app.
2. Head to Rewards in the Programs area.
3. Choose Enter code and type the code in.

Promos or credits on your account are used on their own for rides that qualify, except Lyft Business rides. If you want one particular promo applied, you can select it on the payment screen around the time of the ride. You can use at most 10 credits on a single ride.

Refer Friends for Ride Credits

The referral program pays you in ride credits when friends join Lyft:

1. Open the Lyft rider app and tap Refer a friend.
2. Share your invite link or code by text, email, or social media.
3. Your friend must be new to Lyft and enter the code before their first ride.

Your credit appears after the new rider completes their first ride, within the offer timeframe. Referrals work only in the rider app, not the driver app.

Price Lock for Regular Routes

If you take the same trip often, a Price Lock pass costs $2.99 per month per route. You always pay your locked-in price or less, with up to $40 in savings per month per pass, and you can hold up to 10 passes. Rides paid by your employer work differently; see our Lyft Pass guide.

Lyft Pink Membership

Lyft Pink is a paid membership ($9.99 per month) for frequent riders. According to Lyft, members save an average of $23 per month through free Priority Pickup upgrades, 5 percent off Extra Comfort and XL rides, and up to 3 free ride cancellations per month.

Earn Points on Every Ride

Beyond discounts, Lyft lets you collect outside rewards on paid rides. Link one partner at a time in the app and earn on eligible trips: hotel points with Hilton Honors, airline miles with Alaska Airlines, points with Bilt, ride and delivery savings with DoorDash, or credits and extra points with eligible Chase cards. Rates and caps change, so confirm the current offer with each partner before linking.

More ways to stack value: United MileagePlus members earn up to 4 miles per dollar on scheduled airport rides and can also pay for Lyft trips with miles. Eligible Southwest cardholders earn 2 to 5 Rapid Rewards points per dollar. Certain Mastercards earn a monthly Lyft credit after three rides plus 10 percent off scheduled US airport rides.

Why Isn't My Promo Code Working?

An error at entry means that code can't be used on your account. The usual reasons:

• The offer expired. Check the expiration date in the Rewards tab.
• Your account is not eligible. Many codes are for new riders only.
• Another code or credit was already applied to the account or ride.
• The ride is excluded, such as a Lyft Business ride.

Lyft cannot extend offers past their expiration date. When in doubt, check the Rewards tab for the exact terms of each promo on your account.

Where to Find Current Promos

Lyft announces offers in the app Notifications tab, by email, and in the Rewards tab itself. Any website listing a specific promo code can go stale within days, which is why this guide focuses on how the programs work rather than codes that may already be expired.
